We explore the future of Hawaii's bar, nightclub, restaurant scene after COVID-19 with veterans of the business. Jack Law, owner of Hulas Bar and Lei Stand, and formerly the Wave Waikiki has seen the economic ebb and flow in Waikiki for more than three decades. He's outspoken about the response to the pandemic by our state leaders and has some ideas for what might happen to his business and others like it in Waikiki. Lee Anne Wong was about to open her new concept restaurant at Pioneer Inn in Lahaina before the pandemic, which is now a "ghost town." She talks about restaurant struggles amid a vacant tourist economy and what she thinks needs to happen for real economic recovery to begin.
