Sometimes people will buy gifts for others that are actually just for themselves. This may or may not be the most extreme example of that, where many men give their wives kids so that they can use those sons as a means to race toy cars about 10 years later. How we managed to pull anything worthwhile out of this middling movie was a greater effort than anyone gave on set.
