When you forget that the characters in Bible were real people, you miss out on so much that The Bible has to offer.  These real people lived, loved, cared for others, got angry, made mistakes, had friends just like you and me.  On the Down to Earth Bible Study podcast, we take the characters in The Bible down from the pedestal and try to see the stories and events through their real, human eyes.  James 5:17 says Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.  What was so special about Elijah was that he trusted God to work through him.
