Dr. C. Christine Fair is an accomplished writer, an undeterred researcher, a humble human being, and a woman with heroic spirit. She is bold, brilliant, and benevolent. She is a professor in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University who also served at RAND Corporation, United Nations Assistance Mission to Afghanistan in Kabul, and USIP - a leading think-tank in D.C. Her research focuses on political and military affairs in South Asia (Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka). Dr. Fair is author of several books. Her most recent book is In Their Own Words: Understanding the Lashkar-e-Tayyaba (Oxford University Press, 2019). She is a frequent commentator at leading newspapers/magazines including (New York Times and Foreign Affairs) made several appearances as an expert on television and radio programs on BBC, Al Jazeera, CNN, and Voice of America). She resigned her membership with the International Institute of Strategic Studies and the Council on Foreign Relations to protest its consistent failure to address diversity issues. She speaks and reads Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi.
