6 Reasons for the Power of the Blood of Jesus
1. My debt is paid, once and for all
“So, Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” (Hebrews 9:28)
Just like under the old covenant, the Israelites watched and waited intently for the high priest to reappear after he had gone into the inner sanctuary (The Most Holy Place) to make atonement (covering over for sin) with the blood of the sacrifice. In a similar way, you, and I Christ ‘s followers know that our High Priest has entered the heavenly sanctuary as our advocate, wait with deep and focused hope for a reappearing to bring a complete SALVATION BY TAKING us to be with him in heaven forever.
2. I am no longer a stranger to the covenant of promise
“…remember that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” (Ephesians 2:12-13)
His Promises are yes and amen.
He is the Promise Keeper
WE... who were born dead in trespasses and sins and at enmity with God, are instructed to REMEMBER, that at one time we were separated from the God of Israel, but now have been united with Christ and brought into fellowship with God the Father. We are to REMEMBER that we were once excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, but now have become inheritors of the kingdom, and joint heirs with Christ.
We are to REMEMBER that we were once strangers to the covenants of promise, but now through Christ, we are the recipients of all God's promises, which are "Yes" and "Amen" in Christ Jesus our Lord. And we are to REMEMBER that before salvation we had no hope in the future and were without God in the world - but now, we have a blessed hope in Christ and have become children of God, who have the right to call Him, "Abba - Father."
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, we pray that You would keep us in remembrance, all the gifts and graces that have become ours, because of Your goodness and grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is that Seed of the woman, who crushed the head of the serpent on Calvary's Cross. Thank You that we are no longer separated from You by sin but have been positioned in Christ and clothed in His righteousness.
Thank You that although were excluded from being part of Your chosen nation, we have, by faith, been brought near to God and received a heavenly inheritance. Thank You that we are no longer strangers to the New Covenant of promise, that was given to Israel and cut at Calvary, and thank You that Jesus is our Blessed Hope, gracious God and eternal Savior, in Whose name we pray, AMEN.
3. We have been justified (just as though we had never sinned)
“Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed…” (Romans 3:24-25)
• To be justifies means to be “righteous before God” Rom.2:13” be made righteous. To establish as right or to set or put something right.” In judicial sense, it means to be acquainted or declared “not guilty “In this respect it is directly related to God forgiveness made available through Christ’s sacrifice.
In God’s perspective when a person accepts Christ’s atoning (sin-covering) sacrifice for himself or herself, in that moment it is as if the individual never sinned. God credits Christ’s righteousness to those who receive and follow him. We are justified as morals to be in heaven. Think about it!
4. We are Free
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)
5. I have the power to overcome the enemy
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Revelation 12:11)
• Christ’s death and resurrection are the greatest defeats of Satan and guarantee ultimate victory for those who are faithful to God.
• By determining to speak for Christ and by showing a willingness to serve him at any cost, Christians disarm the devil from being able to rob them of faith, even during the most difficult times of persecution and tribulation.
6. I can participate in the sweet communion of remembrance of His sacrifice
“Likewise, He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.” (Luke 22:20)
The New Covenant in My Blood. Jesus announces the inauguration (i.e.., the official start or beginning) of the new covenant- the new “life agreement” based on his sacrificial death for our sins. Scriptures teaches us that the new covenant could only become valid
