He is a member of countless national task forces and work groups for advancing nursing. A Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, Dr. Harris has been recognized for his leadership by the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Sigma Theta Tau International Epsilon Nu Chapter, the Alabama State Nurses Association and Who’s Who in American Nursing.
