Dr. John Whyte, MD, MPH, is a physician, writer, and healthcare policy expert dedicated to bridging the gap between medicine, media, and public health advocacy. As Chief Medical Officer at WebMD, he leads strategic partnerships that drive meaningful change in public health, including initiatives addressing health equity and diversity in clinical trials. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Whyte has built a reputation as a trusted communicator and innovator in medical education and digital health content.

He previously served as Chief Medical Expert & Vice President at Discovery Channel, where he developed award-winning health content for television and digital platforms. Before that, he was Director of Professional Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement at the FDA, where he played a key role in health policy and regulatory initiatives. A board-certified physician, Dr. Whyte continues to see patients in Washington, DC, Virginia, and Maryland while advancing WebMD’s mission to educate and empower consumers with trusted, evidence-based health information. He is also the host of the Health Discovered Podcast, where he explores unexpected and fascinating stories about health and well-being.
