Dr. Jones interviews Dr. Icy Fergus, MD as part of Black History Month and Heart Health Awareness Month. Dr Icy Fergus, MD. is a practicing African American female Cardiologist (Heart Specialist) in New York, NY. Dr. Fergus graduated from State University of New York Upstate Medical University in 1992 and has been in practice for 27 years. Dr. Fergus also specializes in Internal Medicine. She currently practices at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and is affiliated with The Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai St Luke's Hospital. She has authored numerous articles related to heart disease in women and co-authored a book entitled “Cardiovascular Disease in Ethnic Minorities”. Dr. Fergus is very active in communities where health care disparities are present. During the month of February, she was featured on CBS, NBC and ABC stations for her work on raising awareness of Hearth Health during Heart Health Awareness month.
