Another stimulating episode on the Peplau Ghost podcast. The podcast is thrilled to welcome Dr Delaney who is a living PMHNP legend. She is a full professor at Rush University in Chicago, IL. and has numerous awards and distinctions. Dr. Delaney is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing (2010), psychiatric nurse of the year at the American Psychiatric Nurse Association (2015), Distinguished Alumni at Rush University (2018) and National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty outstanding policy award (2020). She is also a writing “beast” and has over 130 published articles and recently stepped down as editor of the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing. She also has several federally funded grants to include HRSA (5), SAMSHA and NINR. Dr. Delaney shares her wisdom about caring for psychiatric patients and you can hear her passion for providing inpatient care and using data to inform the public on the state of the psychiatric nursing workforce. This intellectually stimulating conversation follows her professional path of starting as a 29 year old nurse who didn’t think she was helping to being a leader on the pulse of international trends of how we care for clients and train the next generation. This is the perfect podcast to listen to after the Thanksgiving holiday or whenever. Stay tuned more episodes to come!
