Dr. Lisa Hill Leads with Empower! Dr. Hill is currently the Chair of the Department of History at Hamden Hall Country Day School in Hamden, CT. Lisa has over 20 years of teaching and administrative experience at the secondary and collegiate level and shares wonderful insight into her leadership journey from student to educator. Lisa is a life-long learner - earning a BA in Liberal Studies from the University of Maryland, Masters' Degrees in US History and African American Literature from Emory University, and a Ph.D. in US History and African American Literature from Emory University. Lisa's research includes Women's History, the Civil War, and Civil Rights movements and Lisa is currently working on a manuscript about Cortlandt Van Rensselaer Creed, M.D., the first African American student to graduate from Yale.
