Dr. Burke is a wounded warrior and retired Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force. He deployed over three years in his military career and was injured during a search & rescue mission while under attack in Afghanistan. Matthew is a life-long learner, mentor, educator, and outdoor enthusiast. Although disabled, Matthew’s fortitude allowed him to earn his Black Belt in Martial Arts, win gold and silver medals in the Invictus games, and complete a Master’s and Doctorate degree. Furthermore, Matthew launched a nationwide nonprofit called 10 CAN, Inc. to fill a gap for military and first responders. He also served as the youngest American Legion Commander in the State of Florida, where he developed a community peach orchard and a partnership between the city and a local food bank.
