In this second podcast episode of Dr. Music, Matthew Marullo talks about an unusual subject, one that the average listener would never think about.  In all types of music, sometimes the composer sustains one tonal element, while other tonal elements are changing simultaneously. This kind of effect is very common and makes for some very beautiful moments, or some really exciting moments!  Several audio examples serve to illustrate the effect.
