An Italian-Brazilian-American, she was a labor organizer whose life spanned from the time of the Triangle Shirtwaist factory fire in 1912 to being a delegate in the 1968 Democratic National Convention. All her life she worked for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union—for over 50 years.
