Dr. Priya J. Shah is a longtime educator, artist, and community organizer in Orange County, CA. She teaches Gender Studies and Ethnic Studies at a number of local colleges and universities. Her artwork has been shown at the Riverside Museum and West Elm South Coast Plaza. Her activism on behalf of LGBTQ+ students and racial justice have earned her the Harvey Milk Jr. Award for Community Service and the OC Pride Community Advocate award. Dr. Shah is currently working on a project about the earliest Indian American women to immigrate to California and is a Scholar-Editor on the National Historical Publications and Records Commission Planning Grant awarded to the South Asian American Digital Archive.
