The Balance of Nature? Humanity is driving species to extinction a hundred times faster than species would become extinct naturally, and the rate continues to accelerate at an alarming rate. Reducing deforestation and restoring deforested areas is by far the cheapest, simplest and most effective way of both slowing down climate change and reducing extinction.
