Today's episode explores voice assisted technologies in healthcare with Dr. Yaa Kumah-Crystal, assistant professor of Biomedical Informatics and Pediatric Oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville, TN. 

Dr. Kumah Crystal’s research focuses on communication and documentation to develop strategies for improving workflow and patient care delivery.  

We truly enjoyed our conversation about ‘VEVA’, the Vanderbilt EHR Voice Assistant (VEVA), recently highlighted in her TED talk on the surprising ways computers can rehumanize healthcare.  

Dr. Kumah-Crystal’s VEVA team leads new discoveries designed to improve the usability of the electronic health record and physician charting.
