The Psychology of a Serial Killer: Harold Shipman

Dramatis Personae

Listen Later

Away from the ghoulish doctors there are a host of other characters who shaped their fate. From Detective Superintendent Herbert Hannam of the Yard who was put in charge of the Bodkin Adams case and dispatched to sunny Eastbourne, or Detective Inspector Stan Egerton who spent his time in his native Hyde investigating Shipman’s grisly deeds. Bodkin Adams Prosecutor was Sir Reginald Manningham Buller, the Attorney General, for Shipman it was Richard Henry Quixano Henriques, in 1993, Enriquez had acted as lead prosecution counsel in the James Bulger murder trial.

Along with characters like Nicola Davis QC, Judge Thayne Forbes, and Judge Patrick Devlin, a man who some argue was mainly responsible for helping Bodkin Adams walk free, these players helped Shipman and Bodkin Adams either face justice or escape the hangman’s noose.
