Today, as part of my Walking with God as a writer series, my special guest Lauren Medina talks about how poetry helped her express her feelings and draw closer to God. Listen as we share our thoughts about poetry, our faith walk, and being inspired by the world around us.
Lauren Medina is an inspirational poet, Christian speaker, educator, and nature enthusiast. The Birds Persist to Sing is her debut poetry collection. Lauren uses her creative work to open up the door to conversations about faith, hope and healing.

Why isn't God answering my prayers?
How can I believe that He is trustworthy after all I've been through?
Will things ever get better?
If you've ever grappled with these questions, you are not alone. The Birds Persist to Sing is a collection of poems that capture some of the emotions we face as we struggle through suffering in our lives and wonder where God is in the midst of it.
In the spirit of the psalms, the poems honestly engage the themes of lament and doubt, while ultimately arriving at a place of deeper hope and trust in the goodness of God's love.
