The following occurred to hundreds of people in the city of new delhi (the capital of india) and seemingly to no one at all

in May of 2001 during a scorching heat wave. the heat became unbearable. So residents who don’t have the luxury of air conditioners or those who are without power seek refuge from the hot summer air by sleeping on the flat roof of their house. This is a normal thing amongst people in the lower income area.

Suddenly

A scream rips through the night waking everyone around, causing a wave of panic throughout the neighborhood

Anyone who hears it knows exactly what is happening and scrambles,

Climbing over neighbors and family trying to hide from what terror is on the lose. Thats right, the monkey man has come.

For three weeks during the month of may in 2001 New Delhi was terrorized by a creature that defied rational explanation. Rumors of attacks by a monster spread like wildfire.

Television & news papers were full of reports of encounters with the elusive creature. There were a variety of stories of attacks all slightly different.. But not really. Calls to the police poured in with people panicked by a monster like no other.
