In Part 3 of our exploration of H. P. Lovecraft's "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath," we consider how to welcome gifts from unpleasant or unwanted sources, especially with regard to welcoming all of our emotions fully and releasing our attachment to how things must be.
We talk about a "Welcoming Reflection" with three parts:
Feel what you feel honestly and fully without judgment, explanation, or intensification.
Welcome all that you feel, and all of reality as it is in this moment.
Let go of attachment to control, to how things must change, and to how you must change.
And with this letting go, be open to connection with your innermost being.
