To this day, I’m still pinching myself over the fact that, in 2005, I had the great opportunity to work with Dr. Maya Angelou at her home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. But when I consider some of the ways I dreamed and set goals for my life just a few years earlier, I’m now convinced the opportunity didn’t arrive completely out of the blue.
