Joseph's story in Genesis 37 reveals how God works through difficult circumstances to accomplish His greater plan. At seventeen, Joseph was favored by his father Jacob and received prophetic dreams showing his future prominence. His brothers' hatred, fueled by favoritism and jealousy, led them to sell him into slavery. Yet God's sovereignty was evident throughout - from the dreams themselves to the providential timing of traders heading to Egypt. Joseph's experiences parallel Christ's rejection and ultimate exaltation. This narrative teaches us that God uses even betrayal and suffering to position us for His purposes, working all things together for good even when we can't see the bigger picture.
