C.S Lewis said: “Everyone thinks forgiveness is a lovely idea, until they have something to forgive…”. In order to clothe ourselves in forgiveness, we have to commit ourselves to the process of letting go and giving God the responsibility for judging the situation. But how do we do that when we are hurt? When the person who hurt us isn’t even asking for forgiveness, or is still hurting us? Can we forgive and still establish boundaries? Understanding what forgiveness is and isn’t, is key to expressing it the way Jesus intended.
