I think most of us have at one time felt like a person we thought cared for us really did not. I used to feel sorry for them. I figured at some point they are going to find themselves alone. The narrator of Drift and Drown discovers that is exactly what happens. But, it is too late. So to all those past romances that ended in hurt for us and loneliness for them, this song is for us.
