Porsche 718 Boxster SPorsche is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Boxster series. To mark the occasion, it's renamed the latest generation the 718 Boxster. It comes with a newly developed, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and has an output of 257 kW. This is a continuation of Porsche's 4-cylinder engines that are characteristic for its 718 sports car series. They won many victories in the 1950s and 1960s, like the legendary Targa Florio and the 24 hours of Le Mans. The open-top, two-seater 718 Boxster S is more powerful, efficient and lighter than its predecessor. Inside it! ZF Advanced Urban VehicleAgile, maneuverable and locally emissions-free: the new Advanced Urban Vehicle from ZF. It keeps drivers connected to their environment and demonstrates the potential of intelligent networking between individual assistance systems within the car. The prototype’s engine is controlled by a rear twist-beam axle, which has a compact 40kW drive unit on both its left and right wheel. The Advanced Urban Vehicle owes its unbeatable maneuverability to a steering angle of up to 75 degrees. This makes for easier steering and allows for a turning circle diameter of less than 6.5 meters.Compare it! SEAT Alhambra - VW SharanAs a consumer, it’s important to compare products. We pit the two most popular family cars against one another, which despite having very similar equipment, have a notable price difference. It’s the SEAT Alhambra vs. the VW Sharan. Both are available as 7-seater models and are fitted with a 2.0 liter diesel engine. So why does VW charge several thousand euros more for a vehicle with comparable features? Drive it! is on the case, finding out if that extra cash really translates into a better drive.Examine it! Drive Guard - A new generation of run-flat tiresA flat tire can ruin your day. It's not just tedious to jack up a car to replace a flat tire, it can also be dangerous, depending where you are located. Run-flat tires allow drivers to travel for a while after a puncture.Until recently, there was no model suited to all cars. Now, Bridgestone has launched the 'Drive Guard' tire series. They have cooling fins on the sides, allowing Bridgestone to reduce the thickness of the tire's inside wall, giving cars smoother handling as well as extra security. The tires can be fitted onto any vehicle that has a tire pressure monitoring system. Vintage! Rometsch LawrenceIn 1924 Friedrich Rometsch set up shop in Berlin as a custom coachbuilder for well-heeled customers. The post-World War Two era saw a range of convertibles, four-door taxis and other models based on the platform of the VW Beetle. In 1957 Rometsch promised drivers that they "would like” his new model - the Lawrence, named after its designer, Bert Lawrence. And like it they did. The car's design mirrored the American styling so popular at the time. But underneath its beautiful, two-tone exterior the Lawrence relied on the Beetle's dependable series production technology. Drive it! goes for a spin in this rare, luxury car.
