Today we celebrate Trinity Sunday, recognizing our One God in Three Persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit. This is the only Sunday on the church calendar that is devoted to a doctrine or an article of faith. At the end of Matthew’s gospel, Jesus sends his disciples into the world to make new disciples of Jesus and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
