Dropped points for Juventus and AC Milan, penalty misses galore

There were plenty of points dropped and penalties missed during Matchday 22 of the 2023/24 Serie A season, with Inter reclaiming their place at the top of the table. The Nerazzurri were 1-0 winners away at Fiorentina with Lautaro Martinez scoring his 19th goal of the season, but Nico Gonzalez produced a truly awful penalty miss that stopped his team from getting a point. That was a crucial three points for Inter because Juventus drew 1-1 against Empoli, having seen Arkadiusz Milik get sent off after just 18 minutes. The gap is now one point and Inter have a game in hand. AC Milan failed to make up any ground on Juventus as they drew 2-2 at home to Bologna, missing from the spot on two occasions. Lazio and Napoli played out a shocking 0-0 draw, and Atalanta reached fourth by beating Udinese 2-0.
