Every community is somehow finding itself faced with the problem of drug and alcohol abuse. In some areas it will be nyaope, while others would battle with tik and other drugs we may not know about as the names keep changing. Well to highlight the week, the Department of Social Development have partnered with the Central Drug Authority and other UN organisations to educate the public, and young people in particular, about the dangers and consequences of substance abuse for a drug-free South Africa. Is education enough though seeing what is happening on the ground?
