You will hear a discussion on the “Drug Epidemic.” Substance misuse is widespread. There’s a very strong chance that substance misuse, substance use disorder, or overdose has impacted someone you know. In 2017, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services declared the opioid crisis a nationwide public health emergency. Today, more than 100,000 people die of a drug overdose every year. The panel includes neuroscientists and Trinity professors Gerard Beaudoin III '99, Ph.D., and K.C. Leong, Ph.D. Moderator: Nicole Luciani '09.
