Molecular biochemical researchers at the University of Southern California have identified a so-called chaperone molecule GRP78 that potentiates CoVid replication and may serve as the basis for a universal CoVid drug.  Taking this information, they have developed monoclonal antibodies and other compounds such as HA15 and YUM70 that inhibit the production of  GRP78 and in turn destabilize the ACE2 receptors that CoVid depends upon to enter and kill a host cell.  The best news is that these potential drugs work independently of ever-mutating spike protein and would be effective weapons against all variants.

 

The same researchers are also testing these GRP78 inhibitors as cancer therapy.  HA15 and YUM70 suppress expression of common mutations found in pancreatic, lung and colon cancers.  They could be the basis for next generation precision oncology.
