Movies about music. Not musicals, not documentaries, not concert films. Part 1 of 2, we pick the top 5 worst in our humble opinions.
How the hell does a band like Primus become a mainstream sensation? We dive in to one of our favorite, weirdest bands ever. Slate Dump performs "Lacquer Head".
On the eve of "the big game", we're feeling inspired by all these amazing and, well, not-so-amazing performances of years past. Join us as we chat about damn near all of 'em, with our usual judgement pulling zero punches.
Get your best white pair of New Balances, holster that cell phone on your belt, and get your best can of Busch Light. We're talkin' DAD ROCK! Featuring a special song with Steve on vocals.
We finally get to our favorite subject which is - the Electric Bass. Catch us as we nerd out a bit and stick around as Slate Dump covers some ZZ Top for ya.
It's part 1 of a 2-part series on GEAR PORN. We're all musicians here (obviously) and, well, gear is EVERYTHING. Stick around for a special performance by Jimmy, Jon, Steve, and Adam of one of Jon's great originals, "Squeak Wheel Squeak".
Today we kick off the new year of episodes with a DEEP DIVE into the music of the one, the only.... RUSH. Oh, and we talk to Uncle Adam about his interactions with the holy triumvirate.
It's Christmas time pretty, baby and the Drunk Uncles are celebrating accordingly. First we talk about what Christmastime means to us, and how Jon's parents chose the best caroling group to sing with. Then we bring on the lovely Sasha Colette to do some more Christmas pondering and debut our cover with her singing "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree. After that you'll hear us playing the Chuck Berry classic "Run Rudolph Run" then Brother Jimmy takes us into a deep dive examining the voice of Christmas, the singular Bing Crosby.
The Drunk Uncles discuss Bob Dylan selling his catalog and the concept of selling out, then go into a deep dive of discussing the two preeminent 70's singer songwriters Jim Croce and James Taylor. We also debut our quarantined recording of Jim Croce's classic "Workin' At the Car Wash Blues".
