Dry Ground

In this Episode I'm joined by Cameron Corley, owner of Keep the Faith Guide Service, to talk about the many hunting opportunities available on the Navajo Nation. It's a great episode and Cameron is no stranger to giant Mule Deer bucks!

The Apache Trout is the State Fish of Arizona and one of only two native trout species in the state. They are an icon of the high mountains of eastern AZ and have quite the conservation comeback story.

In this episode of The Dry Ground Podcast, we turn our attention to one of the Southwest’s most curious and elusive creatures—the coatimundi. Sometimes called a “desert raccoon,” this long-nosed, ring-tailed mammal is a fascinating native of Arizona, New Mexico, and northern Mexico.

Josh and I had the opportunity to go on a hunt in South Africa years ago. We shook hands for the first time in the Atlanta Airport terminal on our way over and came home great friends. In this episode we share some old stories and then dive into his new podcast, "The Green Side of the Grass". A show dedicate to sharing the stories of veterans. Josh's genuine passion for helping those that have served is inspiring to say the least. Each one of these incredible Americans has a story. This is Josh's.

Mr. Jim Shockey was kind enough to come on the show to impart some wisdom, share the story of his recent Arizona Desert Sheep hunt, and talk about the time he spends in Tucson Arizona. I had no idea how deep of a connection Jim has with the Tucson area.

Well 2025 is off to a great start! Here's the story of my archery javelina and archery coues just one week apart! These are my first two animals with VPA's new Omega and let me tell you, they're incredible!

On December 11th The Boone and Crockett Club announced that they would be adding the Javelina as a big game species. This is exciting news for not only the javelina but the regions in which they live. In this episode I read the article released by Boone and Crockett.
