In this episode I'm joined by Freddie Young from Full Moon Reviews as we discuss "Punisher: War Zone." We look at what worked so well, but wasn't successful in the theater. We also get into the current state of comic book movies, from Marvel's rebound with Deadpool and Wolverine, to DC looking to reboot their universe with the upcoming Superman film.

"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode we're starting our look at the Die Hard Franchise with "Die Hard," "Die Hard II," and "Die Hard with a Vengeance." For the first one, I look at who Bruce Willis was as a star before the film and how this shot him to stardom, why this is such a classic, and answer the question on whether or not it's a Christmas movie. For the second one, I get into why I like it, but also why I think it's a great action movie, but not a classic. Finally, for the third one, I get into why there was a delay between this and part 2, and why it was a departure from the first two.

In this episode I'm joined once again by Chris "The Brain" Kacvinsky from Bulletproof Action, and this time we are Buff, and we are the Stuff. That's right, we're talking "LETHAL Ladies: Return to Savage Beach," the last of Andy Sidaris's LETHAL Ladies films. We've got Marcus "Buff" Bagwell, a pizza delivery lady slipping Mickeys in ginger ale, the creator of the Ninja Turtles, and all the boobs, explosions, and plot exposition dialog you could ask for.
You can find Chris and Bulletproof Action at bulletproofaction.com, and the Bulletproof Action podcast on most major podcatchers.

We look at his career as a whole, we also look at the first film in the series, "One Shot;" James Nunn as a current DTV action director, along with the team of Tim Man and Dan Styles; and Michael Jai White as the film's baddie.

"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode we're finishing our look at the Superman pre-DCEU films with Superman IV and Superman Returns. For the first one, I look at the history of it, how Cannon and Golan-Globus came to get this film, and what went wrong with their approach. Then with Superman Returns I look at the period between IV and this film, how comic books changed, and how this didn't do as well as Batman Begins, and why.

Todd Liebenow from Forgotten Filmcast is back on, this time to discuss "Deadly Prey," the AIP classic. We look at the sillier aspects and the brutal aspects, and explore whether or not this film is more self-aware than it seems. I'm also reminded of a Little League teammate's older brother who tried to gross us out by eating worms; and we discuss whether or not New York Seltzer helped fund the film, or just gave the production beverages.

Ty from Comeuppance Reviews is back for his monthly spot on the pod. We're calling this episode The Phillippe Phactory, because we're featuring two poor man's Ryan Phillippes, Cam Gigandet and Kellan Lutz. First we're looking at Gigandet in "Blowback," which also stars Randy Couture. Then with Lutz we look at "Due Justice," which also stars Jeff Fahey and Pedro from "Napoleon Dynamite." Finally, in our Spotlight on a Fight, we looked at Seagal in "Under Siege 2," plus we added a new feature where we look at slang terms the kids use.

"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode we're continuing our look at the Superman pre-DCEU films with Superman III and Supergirl. For the first one, I look at what went wrong here, and what parts of it I enjoyed in spite of itself. Then with Supergirl I look at areas where this film was a first in the comic book genre, but again what went wrong.

Scott Murphy from All 90s Action, All the Time and New Horror Express is back to discuss another Steven Seagal DTV flick, this time 2007's "Flight of Fury," which was a rip-off of Dudikoff's "Black Thunder." As always, we look at the good, the bad, and the problematic--and as is often the case, the latter two are much better represented. Scott also gives us some background on the UK actors who made the trip to Romania to act opposite Seagal's stunt double, and the volume of padding in the film takes us on a tangent about American football.
