"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode we're starting our look at the Beverly Hills Cop franchise with "Beverly Hills Cop" and "Beverly Hills Cop II." For the first one, I look at how the film started as a Stallone vehicle, then moved to Eddie Murphy, and why it all works so well and is one of my favorite actioners ever. Then with the second one, I look at why it worked too, and how if the film was made today, they'd tack on another 45 minutes to it. I also talk about an experience I had on the Flix bus from Boston to NYC.

Ty from Comeuppance Reviews is back for his monthly spot on the pod. First we're looking at the great Chuck Norris in his newest film, "Agent Recon," a low budget DTV affair on Hulu. Then with "King of the Killers," it's a case of some great names, but for some reason the movie doesn't work. Finally, our spotlight on a fight looks at the famous Zack and Slater fight from "Saved by the Bell."

"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode we're finishing our look at the Rambo franchise with "Rambo" and "Rambo: Last Blood." For the first one, I look at why there was such a big delay after part III. From there I talk about the elements of this that worked so well. Then with the second film, I also try to get into why there was a gap after the previous film, and then I talk about what worked and what didn't for me.

In this episode I'm joined once again by Will from Exploding Helicopter, as we revisit Craig Fairbrass with another double feature of his films. First we look "Dead Cert," a British gangster film involving vampires. It sounds like a great concept, so why didn't it work? And then for the second film, we look at the Tubi original "A Violent Man," where Fairbrass really shines in the lead role.

"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode we're starting our look at the Rambo franchise with "First Blood," "Rambo: First Blood Part II," and "Rambo III." For the first one, I look at why this one works so well, and what Stallone's career was like before it. For the next one, I get into how this film helped create the action ecosystem of the mid-80s to the mid-90s, and how it spawned a bunch of DTV clones shot in the Philippines. Finally with the third, I get into where this was off in terms of the Soviet war in Afghanistan, and how that affected its reception.

"Easy! Eas-ee!" Scott Murphy from All 90s Action, All the Time and New Horror Express is back to discuss another Steven Seagal DTV flick, this time 2003's "The Foreigner." A product of its time, we see early 2000s action in all its glory, from techno music to fancy edits, and to that mix we add a Seagal who wasn't as lazy as he became, but lazy enough.

Ty from Comeuppance Reviews is back for his monthly spot on the pod. First we're looking at Orlando Bloom and Andie MacDowell in "Red Right Hand." Was this the best film we've covered on here? Then with "Cash Out," it's the complete opposite. What do we do with this film? Finally, in our Spotlight on a Fight, we looked at the end fight in "Blade" between Wesley Snipes and Stephen Dorff.
