Dublin, double, doubt
- (📝Marcella Boccia) -
In Dublin streets
where echoes fall
The city’s voice
a siren’s call
Its name
a riddle
soft yet clear
A double vision
drawing near
For Dublin holds
a shadowed hue
Two sides
to every stone in view
A city split
in name and sound
Where doubts and dreams
alike are found
Oh Dublin
double in its tone
A truth that cuts
yet stands alone
Your waters dark
your skies ash-grey
Reflect the doubts
that line my way
Each step I take
the cobbles sing
Of mirrored worlds
and truths they bring
In every corner
every turn
A double meaning
sharp to learn
What is the self
but Dublin’s plight?
A shadow cast
by fleeting light
In doubt we live
in doubt we breathe
Two paths beneath
two hearts to grieve
And yet
amidst this endless pair
The city’s pulse
is strong and rare
A whispered truth
within the doubt
A song
that cannot be left out
Oh Dublin
double
doubt
and dream
Your restless spirit
cuts the stream
And though I falter
lost in sound
In your dual heart
my own is found
