'Dumpster diving' is a growing trend, with some people claiming they haven't spent money on groceries in four years.
Dumpster Diver and advocate Sahar Khalili told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "I did this dumpster diving because I come from a background where being the eldest child, I got to eat everything."
"I'd end up finishing my plate and then finish my sister's plate," she said.
