Many teachers around the world were suddenly exposed to online learning for the first time. Some are keeping the process as simple as sending home packets of worksheets. Others are using the opportunity to innovate, take risks, and try new things.

Mike Ribble (@digcitizen) is the author of Digital Citizenship in Schools, now in its third edition. Ribble has served as a classroom teacher, a secondary school administrator, a network manager and a university instructor. His nine elements of digital citizenship have informed audiences around the world and inspired dialogue around responsible technology use.
