Dustin’s work focuses on the 19th U.S. president Rutherford B. Hayes’ political career and Hayes’ relationship to slavery and civil rights. He earned a BA in history and political science from Indiana University Kokomo in 2005, an MA in History from Bowling Green State University in 2008, and a PhD in Policy History also from Bowling Green State in 2014. He has taught at Lourdes University and BGSU, and chairs the curatorial and education department at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums.
