Key Verse: Hebrews 4:12 [New International Version, NIV],For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart........Dusty Jar Talks is dedicated to the knowledge that the Bible is the inspired word of God. The Bible is complete, it is perfect, and it is The Truth. Our faith will increase, our lives will have deeper meaning, and we will have the hope of eternal salvation as we study God's word and live it. Thank you for joining me at Dusty Jar Talks,~Marcia.......If you’re not exactly sure how to start being a Bible Student, here are some thoughts:Read the Bible daily, if at all possible. If you can’t fit reading into your busy schedule, try listening to the Bible while you’re cooking, doing chores, exercising, etc. If you have difficulty reading due to your eyes or a learning disability, again, try listening to the Bible.I use the YouVersion app. It is free and has numerous translations that will read to you. It also supports many languages. If you don’t want to use the app, here is a plan I would suggest.First, let’s focus on the New Testament.Read one of the gospels among Matthew, Mark, or Luke.Read the gospel of JohnRead the book of ActsRead Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, ColossiansRead one of the gospels you didn’t read in step 1Read 1 and 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, PhilemonRead the gospel from step 1 that you haven’t readRead Hebrews, James, 1 and 2 Peter, 1 and 2 and 3 John, JudeRead RomansRead 1 and 2 CorinthiansWe’re going to hold off on the book of Revelation until we read the book of Daniel and Ezekiel. Revelation contains apocalyptic language. For the most part, Revelation should not be interpreted literally, and it should be interpreted by striving to understand the meaning it would have had to the Jews in the first century.
