Listen Later

Greg Bryce’s musical journey began in the heart of the Australian rock scene, Newcastle. A singer-songwriter and guitarist , he formed his first band DV8 in 1974, originally called Meccalissa. During the 1980s, DV8 packed out venues with their hard-hitting original rock songs, many written by Greg. The band recorded several charting albums and singles, helping cement Newcastle’s place on the Australian rock map. Stab in the Dark reached No 2 in the charts in 1981.Greg’s songwriting legacy extends even further, with his songs featured on The Screaming Jets’ first two platinum-selling albums, as well as Hits and Pieces and Do Ya.In the mid-1990s, after spending two and a half years studying and teaching yoga in India, Greg shifted his focus toward acoustic music. His high-energy, percussive guitar style draws on a wide range of influences including pop, blues, funk, rock, jazz, and bluegrass. From 1997 to 2009, Greg was also a core member of Jigzag, the highly regarded folk/roots trio that performed on main stages at major festivals across Australia, including Woodford and Port Fairy, as well as internationally in Canada, the UK, Denmark, and Finland.Jigzag won Best Live Act at the National Folk/Roots Awards in Canberra in 2006 and Best Band at the Golden Fiddle Awards at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2009.Today, Greg performs primarily as a solo artist, with occasional band appearances. With a deep catalogue of original songs and an expansive, genre-spanning selection of covers, he remains a versatile and compelling live performer.🎤 Gioia Di Donato☕ https://buymeacoffee.com/gioia67😀 https://www.facebook.com/gioiadidonato📷 https://www.instagram.com/gioiadidonato
