In episode 179 of the DVC Newscast, Peter and Sue discuss Disney Vacation Club’s March 31 adoption of a new commercial use policy, outlining criteria DVC may use to flag frequent renting/advertising and the enforcement tools available (e.g., cancelling reservations, limiting booking/modifications, restricting banking/borrowing, and reducing benefits) while emphasizing casual renting and family reservations should still be allowed and hoping enforcement improves availability at hard-to-book resorts.
