In the last episode, we discussed the Second Intermediate Period and the expulsion of the Hyksos. The Pharaoh responsible for this liberation of Egypt was Ahmose I and he begins the 18th Dynasty with the rise of the New Kingdom. The topics of this chapter include the first four kings of the 18th Dynasty and the first constructions in the Valley of the Kings.
