The raved-about evening began with the group watching the sunset on a rooftop overlooking the city while two World Cup Winning fencers spared to music playing from a rare instrument called, the Ambox. If that wasn't enough to inspire chatter, magician Chad Nelson made his rounds for an extra later of wow.
At dusk, participants were guided through a mysterious silver door and into a whimsical world where ceremony and art came to life. Already connected through shared experience, people further bonded over heartfelt performances, a one-of-a-kind auction, and delicious food by Top Vegan Chef, Nicole Derseweh. No nobody objected to the event being booze-free. What touched every heart was a fireside chat with Christina and the executive director of She Ready Foundation, Dr. Thyonne Gordon. The group learned about issues with the foster care system, and how they can help ease the pain so many children experience on a daily basis. Proceeds from Feminine Weapon Day benefit at-risk youth and children in underserved communities to receive Art & Healing programs, like the ones WeDeepen presents for grownups, adjusted for kids.At the time of this recording, the 9th Annual event raised $8K for the She Ready Foundation from ticket sales, donations, and the auction. In total and through the years, Feminine Weapon Day has raised over $73,000.
In this podcast WeDeepen guide, Amber J and Christina recap Feminine Weapon Day. After they recap, Amber J reflects on the time that she contracted a "Shibari Shaman" to live with her for a month. It's an experience she said offered her healing, understanding, and preparation for meeting her King. While listening notice the feelings and thoughts that arise.
