When the people of Judah were in their darkest valley, overwhelmed by their own failures and external attacks, God sent a message of hope through the prophet Micah: Help is on the way. This promise would be fulfilled through the birth of Jesus. While Micah delivered this message of hope to hurting people, they would have to wait for the coming of this Shepherd, but God continued to walk with them and be with them in their valley. He may not have delivered the promise when and how they wanted God to, but He was with them and delivered the ultimate hope, Jesus. Similarly, when we face tough seasons and valleys in life, we cry out to God for help, but He doesn’t always show up when and how we want Him to. However, He is always with us, protecting us, and providing for us because that’s what the Shepherd does. We must trust Him with the when and how. Listen to this sermon about The Hope in the first part of our Dwell: God With Us series this Christmas season.
