He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
As mentioned earlier, all my life, I have always read this scripture as only providing shelter, safety, and guidance.
Till I got to a place a few months ago when I needed the hand of God on a situation, and then the HS asked that I read that scripture and meditate on it as much as I could. At that time, I just obeyed because it was the right thing to do, but I never truly understood, well, till I started meditating on it, and it felt like I was being taught a valuable lesson.
I heard the HS deliberately ask me repeatedly what the word said: I kept responding to it all the time.
Then he asked, what does dwelling in the shadow of the Almighty and abiding in the shelter of the Highest mean? I said, being kept by you. He said okay, when you are kept by me under my shadow, what do you find in it, or what happens in there, I said trust, and I am shown the overwhelming love of God, the power of God.
And then he went on to ask when you are under the shadow of a king or ruler, would you ever lack anything? I said absolutely not because everything the king has belongs to you; you are given everything you need to do God’s will and glorify his name. At that moment! I understood! I had been declaring this scripture only in line with protection when in fact, it means so much more. Like in the shadow, there is no lack; there is no sickness; there is no want; there is joy, abundance, goodness, and so many other great things.
As I was still taking that in, I was reminded of the scripture in Acts. The story of Peter's Shadow? It felt like the HS was saying Peter was Jesus’s disciple, and when the people brought the sick and laid them in the street, the shadow of Peter would fall upon them, and they would be healed. It felt like he was asking; How much more than him? And oh! It was such a good one for me because not only did it reveal the importance of this scripture, but it also reminded me that the word of God is life always and that whatever encounter you java with a particular scripture, the encounters and meanings could bring a promise to you and your situation in that season!
So today, I am asking that before you personalize people's revelation and take them in, seek God diligently, asking him to open your eyes, ears, and mind to reveal his promise in his word to you for the season! And watch him move!
