The RCHT Podcast

Dying Matters, Midwifery, and VE Day

Listen Later

(1:01) It’s Dying Matters Awareness week and we’re joined in the studio by Healthcare Chaplain Em Dixon and Palliative Care Nurse Todd Harris to discuss the occasion and why it matters, their roles here at the hospital and what a normal death looks like.

(20:00) And as Monday was International Midwifery Day, to mark the occasion I spoke with Consultant Midwife Sarah-Jane Pedler about the vital role of midwifery, the most rewarding aspects of the job, and the wide range of career paths the profession offers.

(34:37) Today is VE 80 day, which marks the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe and we’ll be hearing from Armed Forces Network Chair John Clague about why this day is so special and how you can get involved.
