Colin Currie has played James MacMillan’s percussion concerto Veni, Veni, Emmanuel so many times it’s part of his DNA; high time then for the two Scotsmen to collaborate on a second concerto for percussion and orchestra. Currie and MacMillan deliver the result with the NZSO in its Bold Worlds concerts this week with the composer also conducting. The programme features other British music from Thomas Adès and Ralph Vaughan Williams.
