Dysfunctional Darwinism: Why only the eccentric survive and thrive

I was in a weekly team meeting the other day and the subject of "normal" came up.  Namely the insistence of others that you and I be more like them.  What does normal even mean anyway?  If you google it, you'll find the definition of normal is "conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected'.  Who fits into that?  More importantly, would you really want to?

If you've ever felt that you're not quite like everyone else, that you don't quite fit, you're in good company.  I don't know about you, but some of the coolest, most dynamic self-accepting people I know are those individuals who have come to appreciate and cultivate their own uniqueness.

In this rant (ahem, podcast episode) I discuss five major dysfunctions I have observed in some of the most highly functioning people I know.

They are:

1. Non-conformity
2. Slightly delusional
3. Highly enthusiastic about something
4. Obsessive
5. Multiple personality advantage

Have a listen and see if you recognize a bit of yourself in this episode.

Thank you.  Enjoy!
