An old clinical dogma in OB/GYN was that dyslipidemia during pregnancy wouldn't have any long term implications on the developing fetus because of short exposures at 9 months. This has since been shown to be untrue. What health issues surface in children whose mothers experienced abnormally elevated lipid levels in pregnancy, and how can these problems be prevented at the peripartum stage?
