The COVID-19 pandemic has heavily damaged the Ugandan education system with the current batch if students having been out of school longer than any previous generation of Ugandan students (even during it's various wars). The future of this system hangs in the balance due to possible future variants of the virus emerging, hence more lockdowns.
An e-learning system was introduced for some classes, but there were many hitches. Other countries are employing e-learning with results. Is the fault solely with our government, the lack of resources necessary for students to access e-learning, or is the enthusiasm of the students who can access these systems are unwilling to adapt to the system because of a bias towards a new system.
