In November, many guys begin ye ole “No-Shave November” … where they refuse to shave their face in order to grow out their manly beards … and dude, I’m all about that. That’s cool. Very cool. I’m with ya. I’m growing mine. But something that is way way waaaaaayyyyyy cooler than “No-Shave November” is “No-Porn November.” It’s where you do not look at, listen to, (or consume through any other means) any sort of porn or sexual tempting junk on TV, the Internet, satellite radio, whatever.

What if you totally hunkered down and made a commitment to No-Porn for the whole month of November? Just for one-month. YOU CAN DO THIS! I’m serious. I know YOU CAN DO THIS! #Philippians413

Many times, Christian guys set way too large of a goal and that’s why they often fail. I’ve done it a million-times myself. I’ve often heard guys (after a porn relapse) say something like, “Dude, that’s it. I’m so mad at myself. Ughhhhh! I’m never going to look at porn again for the rest of my life! I’m done! I’m so done. This time is it!!!”

Hey, first of all, that’s an incredible target/goal, one that I respect, but let’s be honest … it’s not at all realistic for a Christian dude who’s been falling to porn every single week for the last 10 years or 5 years or even 1 year.

I love the quote from the Mel Gibson movie, The Patriot … where the main character (Benjiman Martin) tells his son that when it comes to shooting the bad guys, “Aim small, miss small.” Because I shoot guns, a bow, and hunt deer … I know all about the effectiveness of “Aim small, miss small.” It’s where I focus in on a more specific target of my bigger target. So when a deer comes into my scope, I don’t just aim at the whole deer … I aim at a certain spot on the vital area of the deer (where the heart and lungs are) … like a darker patch of fur or something … And guess what?

It works!

I have 3 nice bucks hanging on my wall that are proof of the effectiveness of “Aim small, miss small.”

So listen to me guys, if your target/goal is to never look at porn again for the rest of your Christian life, that sounds awesome, but it’s way too broad. You must focus on a more specific and realistic target/goal like No-Porn November. Just focus on going the whole month of November without consuming any type of porn (and no “edging” or “dabbling” either)! I’m talking total purity … no Netflix, Prime, Instagram, Twitter, etc. that contains any type of “sexual content” and/or nudity. That’s what I mean by No-Porn November.

YOU CAN DO THIS!

Need some motivation to help you do this? Dude, there are sooooo many reasons for you to stay the heck away from porn … and right now, I’m going to drop 50 of them on you …

Reason #1 … Because you want to live a life that genuinely pleases God and brings Him glory, and you can’t do that if you’re constantly pleasuring yourself with porn. When you obey God, and abstain from porn/lust … it pleases Him and brings Him glory.

– Scripture Reference: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 and 10:31

Reason #2 … Because the old, sinful, unbelieving you died with Christ on the cross, and the new you has been raised with Christ. You’re now a free and new creation in Him and you’re commanded to live like it … to walk in the newness of life … continually presenting all of your “members” (body parts) to God as instruments of righteousness.

– Scripture Support: Romans 6; Galatians 2:20; Colossians 3:1-4; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ezekiel 36:26-27; Romans 12:1

Reason #3 … Because all throughout the Bible, God repeatedly commands His children to live obedient, holy, and separated from this sinful/perverted world. You’re to be in this sinful/perverted world, but not like it.

– Scripture Support: Exodus 20:14; Leviticus 20:26; Proverbs 7:25-27; Matthew 5:27-30; Acts 15:20; Romans 12:1; 1 Corinthians 6:18; 10:8; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 2 Timothy 2:22; 1 Peter 1:16 & 2:11

Reason #4 … Because God purchased/ransomed/redeemed you with the shed blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. That means you’re not your own. Your heart, mind, and body (even your eyes and penis) now belong to God. Your body is the temple of His Holy Spirit.

– Scripture Support: 1 Peter 1:18-19; Mark 10:45; Romans 8:14-17; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Galatians 4:4-7; John 1:12; 1 John 3:1

Reason #5 … Because looking at porn is totally self-centered and self-exalting. It’s all about putting your pleasures and desires before the glory of God and the good of others … and that totally contradicts the manly/selfless life that God’s called you to live.

– Scripture Support: 1 Corinthians 16: 13-14 and 10:31; John 3:30; Matthew 22:36-40; Luke 9:23; Galatians 5:24

Reason #6 … Because when you’re a child of God, looking at porn is actually cheating on God, and He considers it spiritual-adultery. Remember, we (the church … believers in Christ) are the bride of Christ, and He expects His bride to be faithful and pure … just like you would expect your bride, your wife, to be faithful to you.

– Scripture Support: Jeremiah 3:20; 9:2; Ezekiel 16:30-34; Hosea; James 4:4-5; Revelation 21:9

Reason #7 … Because those who continue to live a life of unrepentant sexual lust/sin reveal that they don’t truly know Christ as their Savior and Lord. I don’t care what you say you believe or what kind of “sinner’s prayer” you prayed to ask Jesus to come into your heart. The bottom line is that if you continue to live a life of unrepentant sexual lust/sin where you aren’t making any kind of effort to fight and kill the sin in your “Christian life” then that reveals that you don’t truly know Christ as your Savior and Lord … and that means you’re going to spend eternity separated from God in Hell. So wake up! This “porn-thing” is a way bigger deal than you think!

– Scripture Support: Matthew 3:8; 5:27-30; Matthew 7:21-23; Luke 6:46; Romans 8:13; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Galatians 5:24; Ephesians 5:3-17; 1 John 2:3-6 and 3:6-10; Revelation 21:8 and 27 and 22:15

Reason #8 … Because when you really think about it, looking at porn is nothing more than worshipping the creature/creation (women and sex) over the Creator (Christ), and that’s idolatry … and God commands you to keep yourself from idols and worship Him alone. Remember, He is a jealous God.

– Scripture Support: Exodus 20:3; Deuteronomy 5:7 & 6:13-15; Romans 1:21-25; 1 John 5:21

Reason #9 … Because God’s will for your Christian life is that you completely “abstain” from every form of “sexual immorality” and “control your own body in holiness and honor” and that includes abstaining from porn.

– Scripture Support: 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8

Reason #10 … Because Jesus Christ can return at any time to take His people home to Heaven (it’s called the rapture), and that “blessed hope” should motivate you to live a godly life in this ungodly world.

– Scripture Support: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:12-13; John 14:3; Matthew 24:30-31; 1 Corinthians 15:51-53; 1 John 3:3

Reason #11 … Because you’re going to stand before God at the “Judgment Seat of Christ” and give an account for how you lived your Christian life, and you don’t want to waste another minute of it looking at porn.

– Scripture Support: Romans 13:10-12; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Ephesians 5:15-17

Reason #12 … Because you’re a citizen of Heaven, and this sinful world is not your true home. You’re just a foreigner, stranger, and temporary resident. So stop living like the lost natives who look at porn all the time, because you ain’t one of them!

– Scripture Support: Philippians 3:20; John 15:19; 1 Peter 1:4 & 2:11; Matthew 7:13-14; Hebrews 11:13-16 & 13:14; Galatians 4:7; Colossians 3:1-4; Hebrews 11:13-16

Reason #13 … Because you’re an ”ambassador of Christ” to this lost world … not just with your words, but most of all by living an authentic godly life without any kind of secret sin. When you “abstain” from lust, porn, and every other type of sexual-sin, it has a powerful way of identifying and distinguishing you from unbelievers who don’t know God, and that is an extremely persuasive evangelistic witness to them.

– Scripture Support: 2 Corinthians 5:20; 1 Peter 2:12; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5; Matthew 5:16; John 13:35; Matthew 7:15-20; Galatians 5:22-23

Reason #14 … Because you’re a warrior for Christ, and God’s called you to fight the good fight of faith/holiness until the day you die. That means you daily need to have all your spiritual armor on (Ephesians 6:10-18) … and you need to be continually standing firm and battling against your old sinful flesh and the spiritual forces of darkness. Fight!

– Scripture Support: 2 Timothy 2:3; Ephesians 6:10-18; Romans 8:13; Psalm 18:37-39; Colossians 3:5-6; 2 Corinthians 10:3-6; Matthew 5:27-30

Reason #15 … Because looking at porn is unmanly. It completely goes against the divine mandate that God gave men to love and care for women. Real men are self-denying, sacrificial protectors and providers. They don’t objectify, use, dominate, harm, and exploit women for their own selfish sexual pleasure. Be manly!

– Scripture Support: Genesis 2:24-25; Ephesians 5:25-33; 1 Timothy 5:8; 1 Peter 3:7; 1 Corinthians 10:24 && 16:13-14

Reason #16 … Because there’s no such thing as “secret” … in reality, God sees everything that you do and think. He’s sees absolutely everything going on in your heart and mind. He is omnipresent and omniscient. Jesus said that everything you do in “secret” will eventually come to the light and be exposed. Your sins will find you out! So stop looking at porn!

– Scripture Support: Job 34:21; Psalm 33:13; 44:20-21; 53:2; 69:5; 90:8; Proverbs 5:21 & 15:3; Jeremiah 16:17; 23:23-24; 32:19; Hebrews 4:12-13; 1 Peter 1:12; Matthew 6:4 & 6:6 & 6:18; Luke 8:1 & 17; 1 Corinthians 4:5; Numbers 32:23

Reason #17 … Because there’s no such thing as “secret” … in the spiritual realm, you’re actually being observed by angels, demons, and even possibly by believers in Heaven. Do you really want them to see you looking at porn and masturbating to it? If so, you have way deeper “issues” than you realize. Go seek help immediately!

– Scripture Support: Hebrews 12:1; Ephesians 6:10-18; Matthew 18:19; 1 Corinthians 4:9; Hebrews 13:2

Reason #18 … Because there’s no such thing as “secret” … in reality, your Internet Service Provider (your I.S.P.) is recording all of your Internet activity, and the U.S. Government is also totally capable of monitoring and recording all of your Internet and phone activity or they could at any time they want to … access your I.S.P.’s records.

– Scripture Support: Numbers 32:23

– Article/Blog from NPR.org: 5 Things to Know about the NSA’s Surveillance Activities by Krishdadev Calamur

Reason #19 … Because looking at porn hinders your close fellowship with your Heavenly Father, and everything in your Christian life and service flows out of your close fellowship with Him.

– Scripture Support: Psalm 24:3-6; Hosea 5:15; Matthew 5:8

Reason #20 … Because looking at porn hinders your prayer life from being effective and powerful, and that hurts yourself and others. Your personal purity is not just about you!

– Scripture Support: Peter 3:12; Psalm 66:18; James 5:16; 1 Corinthians 10:24

Reason #21 … Because looking at porn completely prevents your spiritual growth (your sanctification). You can’t advance in Christlikeness if porn is an addiction in your Christian life that you’re not willing to address and fight!

– Scripture Support: 1 Corinthians 3:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 1 John 2:6

Reason #22 … Because whatever you continually put before your eyes and mind will shape what kind of man you become. What you continually behold, you become! … And you’re commanded to behold and become like Christ.

– Scripture Support: 2 Corinthians 3:18; Proverbs 23:7; Ephesians 4:15 and 22-24

Reason #23 … Because looking at porn hinders your close fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ. Even scientific studies reveal that porn-use hinders a man’s ability to emotionally connect with others people.

– Scripture Support: 1 Corinthians 10:21 and 1 John 1:7

– Book: Your Brain on Porn by Gary Wilson

– Article/Blog from Equip.org: The Effects of Porn on the Male Brain by William M. Struthers, Ph.D

Reason #24 … Because looking at porn makes you a divided and double-minded man with an accusing conscience. And when you’re out of alignment like that it causes you to lose your inner peace, joy, strength, and confidence … and it brings on feelings of shame, guilt, anxiety, and depression … and those feelings don’t easily or quickly go away. Even scientific research now reveals that porn-use contributes to serious mental and emotional problems like anxiety and depression.

Reason #25 … Because looking at porn brings your Heavenly Father’s loving discipline upon your life.

– Scripture Support: 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8; Hebrews 12:5-7; Psalm 39:11; Proverbs 3:11-12; Jeremiah 2:30; 1 Corinthians 10:8-13 & 11:30; 1 John 5:16

Reason #26 … Because looking at porn can prevent many of God’s blessings upon your life, family, and ministry. Again, your personal purity is not just about you! You don’t want to do anything to hinder God’s blessings upon your family and ministry. That’s so selfish!

– Scripture Support: Deuteronomy 12:28; Psalms 84:11; Jeremiah 5:25; Luke 11:28; James 1:12-15; 21-25; 1 Corinthians 10:24

Reason #27 … Because you will NEVER find real joy, comfort, relief, connection, adventure, and satisfaction in porn. Those things can only be found in your loving relationship with God and other people. All porn does is scratch the itch and make your personal “issues” worse. Porn can NEVER give you the real joy, comfort, relief, connection, adventure, and satisfaction that your soul craves and needs.

– Scripture Support: Proverbs 27:20; Ecclesiastes 1:8 & 1:14; Ezekiel 16:28; John 4:13-14; Psalm 37:4; Matthew 5:6

Reason #28 … Because of the many Christian men who’ve ruined their Christian testimony, marriage, family, and ministry (all because of their secret sexual sin). God has sovereignly and graciously allowed you to see their ruin to warn and instruct you in the way you should go … to help you see that far godlier men than you have fallen (hard) to horrible sexual temptation/sin. So you need to take heed! You’re not above that. Nor are you smarter or slicker than them.

– Scripture Support: 1 Corinthians 10:6 and 10:12; Galatians 6:7; Romans 8:6; 2 Samuel 11 (the story of King David and Bathsheba)

Reason #29 … Because somebody trusts and looks up to you as a spiritual leader … as an example worth following. You don’t want to let them down or be some sort of “stumbling block” in their Christian life. They need you to be the real deal. Your personal purity is not just about you!

– Scripture Support: 1 Corinthians 4:16 & 11:1; Philippians 3:17 & 4:9; 1 Timothy 4:12; Matthew 18:6-7

Reason #30 … Because you can’t help other men find freedom, hope, and healing if you’re stuck in the same pit of sexual sin that they are! That’s the blind leading the blind! Again, your personal purity is not just about you! Other Christian dudes need you to step-up, man-up, and help them get out of that pit.

– Scripture Support: Matthew 15:14; Galatians 6:1-2; Romans 2:21-22;

Reason #31 … Because looking at porn totally wrecks your power and passion to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with non-believers. Again, your personal purity is not just about you!

– Scripture Support: Mark 16:15-16; Acts 1:8; Romans 1:16 and 10:14-17; 1 Corinthians 9:16; 1 Timothy 4:12-16

Reason #32… Because looking at porn hinders your ability to make wise-godly decisions. Even scientific studies have revealed that when men look at porn their brain releases dopamine (the pleasure chemical), and the release of dopamine severely impairs the ability of the decision-making part of their brain (the pre-frontal cortex) to operate effectively … and that’s the reason why so many men who look at porn end up doing incredibly stupid and even illegal things that they will regret for the rest of their lives.

– Scripture Support: Proverbs 5:12-14; 6:32; 7:7; Psalm 107:17; Matthew 7:26-2; Judges 16

– Article/Blog from NetNanny.com: How Pornography Makes Men Stupid by Mark Kastleman

– Article/Blog from Equip.org: The Effects of Porn on the Male Brain by William M. Struthers, Ph.D

– Book: Wired for Intimacy: How Pornography Hijacks the Male Brain by William M. Struthers, Ph.D

Reason #33 … Because scientific research reveals that looking at porn artificially raises your baseline levels of dopamine (the pleasure chemical in your brain) which makes you need extra hits of dopamine (more porn use) just to feel good or normal. This is one of the reasons why so many guys who look at porn often feel depressed, unmotivated, anxious, and anti-social. Their brain has literally grown accustom to the raised dopamine levels … to the point that they can’t even enjoy the normal and simple pleasures of life. Their porn use has altered and distorted their brain to the point that the only thing that makes them feel good or normal is using porn to trigger the release of dopamine. Just like a drug addict. This is one of the many reasons why God says that sexual sin is a sin against your own body. It literally destroys you from the inside-out!

– Scripture Support: 1 Corinthians 6:18

– Book: Your Brain on Porn by Gary Wilson

– Book: The Brain That Changes Itself by Norman Doidge, M.D.

– Article/Blog: The Brains of Porn Addicts by Julia Cottle, PH.D. – https://www.mentalhelp.net/articles/the-brains-of-porn-addicts/

Reason #34 … Because a little sin always leads to more sin and worse sin. Sin never remains little or “softcore.” NEVER! … That’s not the nature of sin. Sin always to takes you deeper than you planned to go. It’s like a spiritual malignant tumor that gradually grows and spreads, infecting and destroying every good thing in your life. Sin will NEVER be satisfied until it has completely taken over your entire life and destroyed you! This is also why a man who looks at softcore porn soon finds himself looking at more graphic, more perverted, and even illegal forms of porn just to get the same high or pleasure that he used feel. A little sin always leads to more sin and worse sin!

– Scripture Support: Genesis 4:7; Proverbs 27:20; Ecclesiastes 1:8; 2 Samuel 11; 1 Corinthians 5:6; James 1:14-15

– Article/Blog from Covenant Eyes.com: Brain Chemicals and Porn Addiction: Science Shows How Porn Harms Us by Luke Gilkerson

Reason #35 … Because looking at porn destroys your focus and motivation to achieve your personal mission and goals. Porn has a strange way of totally wrecking and derailing you from pursuing and fulfilling what truly matters most to you! You’ll never fulfill your divine calling/destiny if you don’t deal with your porn problem.

– Scripture Support: Proverbs 10:4; Ephesians 5:16; Colossians 3:23

– Article/Blog from CovenantEyes.com: Brain Chemicals and Porn Addiction: Science Shows How Porn Harms Us by Luke Gilkerson

Reason #36 … Because looking at porn creates impulse-control problems in other areas of your life … like with over-eating, impulsive spending, outbursts of anger, laziness, etc. You can’t be impulsive and out of control in one area of your life (like with porn addiction) and not expect it to infect the other areas of your life. Again, that’s not how sin works! Sin never stays isolated to just one area of your life. It’s like a spiritual malignant tumor that will grow and spread and take over. That’s why as a believer, God commands you to live righteous and self-controlled in every area of your life.

– Scripture Support: Proverbs 27:20; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 and 13:4; Galatians 5:9; 5:22-23; Ephesians 4:32; Colossians 3:19; Titus 1:8; 1 Peter 3:8; 4:7; 2 Peter 1:5-7

Reason #37 … Because looking at porn will embed even more sinful and perverted images into your mind which only provides more kindling to easily ignite your old sinful flesh … and you don’t need any more kindling. God commands you to keep your mind pure and focused on good things that please Him and help make you a better man. You’re commanded to keep the TV channel of your mind on channel P-48 … that’s Philippians 4:8!

– Scripture Support: Romans 12:2 and Philippians 4:8

Reason #38… Because porn ruins your ability to view females properly. When you really think about it, porn does nothing but devalue, objectify, and exploit females as nothing more than a consumable product for your selfish gratification. And that mindset always carries over into real-life, and it causes your eyes and imagination to wander and fantasize whenever you’re around an attractive female in the real world. What I mean is … if you often look at porn in private then you will constantly struggle with mentally undressing and fantasizing-over the attractive women whom you see in public. And God commands you to view all females with pure eyes … just as Christ views them … and it’s totally impossible to do that if you’re secretly looking at porn.

– Scripture Support: Philippians 2:4-8 & 1 Corinthians 2:16

– Article/Blog from Equip.org: The Effects of Porn on the Male Brain by William M. Struthers, Ph.D

– Book: Wired for Intimacy: How Pornography Hijacks the Male Brain by William M. Struthers, Ph.D

Reason #39 … Because every female you look at is a real person with an embodied soul, created in the image of God, who will spend eternity in either Heaven or Hell.

– Scripture Support: Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139:14; Hebrews 9:27

Reason #40 … Because every female you look at is a real person whom Jesus Christ brutally suffered and died for on the cross, who desperately needs God’s mercy, grace, forgiveness, and healing.

– Scripture Support: John 3:16 and Romans 5:6-8

Reason #41… Because every female you look at is a real person who is someone’s daughter, and you’re commanded to “do unto others as you want them to do unto you” (the Golden Rule – Christianity 101 = love others the way you want to be loved). Would you want a guy looking lustfully at your daughters? Then don’t do that to his daughters!

– Scripture Support: Romans 12:10; 13:7; 1 Peter 2:17; Matthew 7:12

Reason #42 … Because just one-click on a porn website actually increases revenue for pornographers, which actually contributes to the creation and production of more porn … and God strongly warns His children to not be involved in the devising, plotting, and production of evil. When you really think about it, the porn-viewers (the consumers) are really the porn-creators. They’re the ones who fuel the industry. So if you look at porn, you’re actually helping to create and produce more porn. It’s an extremely harmful cycle of supply and demand.

– Scripture Support: Micah 2:1; Zechariah 8:17; Psalm 59:5; Proverbs 1:10-19; 6:18

– Article/Blog from Technology Review: How the Internet Porn Business Works by Christopher Mims

– Article/Blog from The Economist: Pornography (2): Naked Capitalism

– Article/Blog from Business Insider India: This is how porn sites make money by Saikat Pyne

Reason #43 … Because looking at porn fuels an industry (the porn/prostitution industry) that enslaves, abuses, and traffics females. Many of the so called “performers” in porn are manipulated, coerced, blackmailed, threatened, physically abused, and forced to participate. Again, your personal purity is not just about you!

– Scripture Support: Proverbs 24:11; Philippians 2:4; Luke 6:31

Reason #44 … Because the majority of the women in the sex/porn industry were sexually abused as children! They’re women who desperately need the freedom, hope, and healing that can only be found in Jesus Christ, and viewing porn only helps keep them wounded, enslaved, and without hope and healing. Again, your personal purity is not just about you!

– Scripture Support: Proverbs 24:11; Philippians 2:4; Luke 6:31

– Stats from http://iamatreasure.com/about/stats/

Reason #45… Because looking at porn is adultery of the heart. It’s a form of betraying and cheating on your wife (or future wife). It breaks your marriage vow of “forsaking all others” for her alone.

– Scripture Support: Matthew 5:27-30; Ephesians 5:25-30; James 5:12; Ecclesiastes 5:4-5

Reason #46 … Because looking at porn deeply disappoints and hurts your wife (or future wife). It also makes her feel betrayed, insecure, unattractive, and not good enough for you … and it also completely destroys her trust and respect for you … and that could easily become a “stumbling block” in her own Christian life. And this is also why over 50% of divorces in the U.S. in recent years, mention porn use by one of the spouses as a major contributing factor to the divorce.

– Scripture Support: Ephesians 5:25 and 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

– Stat from Psychology Today: Is Porn Really Destroying 500,000 Marriages Annually by Kevin B. Skinner, Ph.D.

Reason #47 … Because looking at porn destroys a husband’s sexual attraction and arousal for his wife, and God commands you to find all your sexual attraction and arousal in your wife alone. According to Dr. Norman Doidge, who wrote the book The Brain That Changes Itself, porn literally trains your brain to believe that real people (like your wife) are less rewarding than the female actors you see on a screen. This causes a husband to not only devalue his wife’s beauty and sexiness, but this is also why an increasing number of men (young and old) are struggling with erectile dysfunction. Through porn use, men literally condition their brain to only be aroused by the sinful perverted porn they see on a screen, and that’s one of the real reasons why so many cannot get erect to their own wife’s beauty and sexiness.

– Scripture Support: Proverbs 5:15-19; Song of Solomon; 1 Corinthians 7:1-5

– Article/Blog from Everyday Health: Erection Problems? This May Be Why by Denise Mann

– Article/Blog from CovenantEyes.com: Does Porn Cause Erectile Dysfunction? by Matt Fradd

Reason #48 … Because looking at porn actually creates an emotional and spiritual separation between your wife and you (or you and your future wife), and God commands you to live as one. I’m telling you from first-hand experience, if you’re secretly looking at porn, it literally creates a bizarre emotional and spiritual separation between your wife and you, but living pure brings an emotional and spiritual oneness.

– Scripture Support: Matthew 19:5; Ephesians 5:31

Reason #49 … Because if your kids (or future kids) found out that their dad secretly looks at porn, it would completely destroy their trust and respect for you, and it could easily become a “stumbling block” in their own lives that leads them into serious sin. Again, your personal purity is not just about you! Your personal purity affects all those around you – especially those who are closest to you, like your wife and kids (or future wife and kids).

– Scripture Support: Romans 14:13; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:4

Reason #50 … Because you want to be an authentic godly man whom your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren can trust, respect, and imitate. The Bible makes it clear, that as a father, your life choices will affect the generations that come after you (for good or for evil). Again, your personal purity is not just about you! Pastor Robert Murray M’Cheyne said this, “The greatest need of my own people is my own holiness.” That means the thing that “your people” need most from you is for you to be an authentic godly man with no secret sin!

– Scripture Support: Jeremiah 32:18; Proverbs 20:7 & 22:6; Matthew 10:26; Ephesians 6:4; 1 Timothy 5:24-25
